Gimme 5: Sector 55 tells its MLA

From removing squatters around the water tank to a bigger club house for large gatherings, here's what Sector 55 residents want their MLA to sort out.

Gimme 5: Sector 55 tells its MLA

As part of the MLA Apke Dwaar (MLA at Your Doorstep) programme conducted at Sector 55 this past Sunday, residents handed over a list of five issues to MLA Vimla Batham that they want her to sort out. Check these out:

1 Let bikers learn some traffic rules
Riders whizz their bikes on the wrong side of the road near the DAV Public School. Residents want their MLA to deploy traffic cops near the school to keep a check on bikers. These untamed bikes can prove dangerous for school children

2 CNG pipeline across the sector
Residents of Block C allege step-motherly treatment from Noida Authority. "While other blocks have CNG pipelines in place, Block C is yet to get its share. Work on the pipeline here has been done partially," says Mina Bali, a residents of Block C.

3 Axe encroachments around water tank
The area surrounding the water tank of Block D has been taken over by a group of rickshaws pullers and auto drivers who regularly consume liquor and pass lewed comments on women passing by. Residents want strict action against these trespassers.

4 Place for jamboree
Residents want a club inside the Sector to accommodate the swarm of guests during weddings and other social functions. The Community Centre that the Sector currently has is inadequate to accommodate large gathering.

5 Replace rickety poles
The Sector is home to various old and dilapidated electricity poles that have worn out with time. Residents’ fear that the poles, if not replaced, can lead to an accident and have urged the authority to replace them.
