New Delhi: Delhi continues to register more than 300 daily deaths due to coronavirus. The city reported 311 deaths on Wednesday, taking the toll to 18,063. Earlier, 448 deaths were reported on Monday, which was the highest single-day fatality since the pandemic hit the city.

The Capital recorded 338 deaths on Tuesday, 448 on Monday, 407 deaths on Sunday, 412 on Saturday, 375 deaths on Friday, and 395 on Thursday.

The city reported 20,960 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking the cumulative tally to 12,53,902. The city reported 19,953 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, 18,043 on Monday, 20,394 on Sunday, 25,219 on Saturday, 27,047 on Friday, and 24,235 on Thursday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 79,491 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 62,767 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 16,742 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was recorded at 26.37 per cent. The cumulative positivity rate was 7.16 per cent, slightly higher than a day before.

A total of 19,209 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 11,43,980 in the national capital. The active cases slightly increased to 91,859 from 90,419 on the previous day.

As far as vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 90,365 people received vaccines in the last 24 hours. A total of 64,983 people received the first dose of the vaccine whereas 25,382 people received their second dose. So far, 34,83,832 persons have received vaccines in the national capital.

Out of the total 21,528 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 1,518 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation slightly increased to 50,077 from 49,829 on Tuesday.
