Noida: The liquor stores in Gautam Budh Nagar opened their shutters on Tuesday after they were off because of the corona curfew in Uttar Pradesh. Huge crowds were observed outside the liquor shops violating the social distancing norms.
According to the District Excise Officer Rakesh Bahadur Singh, the liquor stores have been allowed to open for the sale of both foreign and country-made liquor but only in compliance with Corona protocols like social distancing and wearing face masks.
A lot of people were seen queuing outside these stores in Noida and Greater Noida as soon as they opened.
There were pictures on social media of such people waiting outside the liquor stores with their face masks on and some even sported their helmets while standing in the queue. However, violation of social distancing norms could be observed at some places.
