Delhi reports 6,456 new coronavirus cases; positivity rate at 10.40%

New Delhi: The coronavirus situation has continued to improve in the last few days in the national capital. On Sunday, the city reported 6,456 new coronavirus cases, taking the cumulative tally to 13,93,867.

Delhi reported 6,430 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, 8,506 on Friday, 10,489 on Thursday, 13,287 on Wednesday, 12,481 on Tuesday and 12,651 on Monday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 62,059 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 45,094 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 16,965 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate declined to 10.40 per cent from 11.32 per cent from on the previous day. The cumulative positivity rate was 7.62 per cent.

On the other hand, the daily deaths were reported below 300 mark. Delhi reported 262 deaths on Sunday, taking the toll to 21,506. The Capital recorded 337 deaths on Saturday, 289 on Friday, 308 on Thursday, 300 on Wednesday, 347 on Tuesday and 319 on Monday.

A total of 9,706 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 13,09,578 in the national capital. The active cases declined to 62,783 from 66,295 on the previous day.

Out of the total 24,144 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 7,895 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation declined to 39,211 from 42,484 on Saturday.
