New Delhi: Former President of Indian Medical Association and a Padma Shree awardee Dr KK Aggarwal, 62, died on Monday due to coronavirus. Dr Aggarwal was known for his effervescent personality. He would often release videos on social media platforms. Ever since the pandemic hit the country, he was very active on the social media and believed in educating people about the deadly disease.

About two weeks ago, Dr Aggarwal had released a video stating that he represented the collective consciousness of the medical fraternity. He was himself struggling with the Covid infection and pneumonia but he said, “The show must go on.” The video is now going viral on the social media.

In the video, he also said, “I'm having Covid pneumonia which is progressive.” He also recalled the words of Bollywood’s showman Raj Kapoor and said, “picture abhi baaki hai... the show must go on.”

The official statement about his death was released on his Twitter account. It said, “Ever since he became a doctor, Padma Shri Dr KK Aggarwal has dedicated his life to the welfare of the public and raising health awareness. Even during the pandemic, he made constant efforts to educate the masses and was able to reach out to over 100 million people through numerous videos and educational programs and saved countless lives.”

Dr Aggarwal’s family said that despite he has gone but his spirit of spreading positivity irrespective of the situation is something which people can learn.

He had done his schooling in Delhi and done his MBBS from Nagpur University. In 1983, he had joined Moolchand Hospital in Delhi and had become a consultant after five years.
