Noida: The largest Covid-19 vaccination drive is underway in India. The vaccine is the only hope for people in the fight against Covid-19. However, people are finding it difficult to get appointment slot for the vaccine jab at various locations in Delhi-NCR.
Amid all this, drive-in vaccination centres has raised the hope of people to get vaccine at the earliest. Gurugram was the first city in the NCR which started drive-in facililty for vaccination.
Following that, drive-in vaccination was started at two places in Gautam Budh Nagar as well. However, the facility is for people above the age of 45 years. The centres for drive-in vaccination were DLF Mall in Noida and Shaheed Vijay Singh Sports Complex in Greater Noida.
Sushil Manchanda, a resident of Noida recently received his jab at drive-in vaccination centre in Noida. He said, “This was much needed. It was the need of the hour to scale up vaccination drive. I was trying for long to get the slot for vaccination. Fortunately, I got my appointment at a drive-in vaccination centre. I was administered the vaccine quite easily at DLF Mall.”
A Greater Noida resident, Saurabh Singh also received his vaccine at a drive-in vaccination centre. He said, “There was a little rush at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Sports Complex. I had to wait for an hour in the queue. Finally, I received the jab. The staff was cooperative. This is a good initiative by the authority. It was needed to ramp up the drive.”
The people who wish to get the vaccine at drive-in vaccination centre should register themselves on CoWIN app and then book an appointment before heading for a drive-in vaccination centre.
