Gurgaon bites into the world's longest vada pav!

On the occasion of World Vada Pav Day (August 23), Nukkadwala, a chain of street-food restaurants in Gurgaon, made the world’s longest vada pav, measuring 145 ft in length. The vada pav will be featured in the Limca Book of Records' 2018 issue. This record-breaking snack was displayed at Vatika Business Park, Sector 49, Sohna Road, Gurgaon, around 1 pm.

A team of 25 people, headed by chef Ajay Sood, prepared for three days to get the vada pav ready. It took them three hours and 200 kg each of potatoes and bread to get the vada pav ready. More than 2,500 people attended the event and feasted on the delicious Marathi staple.

“I think we take Indian street food such as the vada pao for granted," said Gaurav Bhalla, MD, Nukkadwala. "We wanted people to know about World Vada Pav Day, so we decided to celebrate it in our own unique Nukkadwala style.”

Anand Shinde, an IT professional who is a regular at Nukkadwala, said, “Their vada pav is my favourite. It reminds me of the vada pav I used to have at Dadar, Mumbai. It was a great experience having a chunk of the world's longest vada pav!”
