Noida: World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5. On the occasion, Express Zenith,  a residential society in Sector 77, Noida, organised a plantation drive. On Saturday, 80 trees were  planted at Express Zenith's green belt with the support of the AOA team led by Devendar, Nisha Rai of NOFAA and Vineet of Give Me Trees Trust.

Many varieties of trees or plants like Ashok, Neem, Tulsi, Anaar, Aloe Vera, Kikar, Gulhar, Peepal, Shammi, Sheesham and Arjun were planted. All the residents took a pledge to maintain the trees as well. Four gardeners of the society helped in this plantation drive. Many residents including Pronati, Juhi, Mukul, KP Singh helped in the plantation drive.

Devendar, an AOA member of the society shared, "It was a joy to be part of the plantation today with Give me Trees Trust. We, in collaboration with the trust, planted 80+ trees today. It was a joy to add saplings like Peepal, Guler, Ashok, Anar, Kikar etc.

A member of Give me Trees Trust, Vineet educated people on the ways to maintain the plants and guided people on mulching method as well. He said, "Due to Covid guidelines, the program was attended by only a few people. We wish those trees to grow and also wish that we can do bigger  community events soon."
