DropBox Concert: Funds raised to support artists struggling during pandemic

New Delhi: The pandemic has been with all of us for more than a year now. Most of us are stuck within the boundaries of homes. It has become tough to venture outside. Working from home and online classes are the new normal.

Almost everyone has been impacted by this situation. One of the most prominent sectors of them is the showbiz and the entertainment sector.

Now, as the lockdown has been lifted in Delhi and in other states of  the country, the entertainment industry still remains shut and due to the lockdown, the artists lost their ways of earning.

The situation is very horrifying, everyone is worried about their work. People working in arts field have suffered a lot. The theatre actors, backstage artists, singers are struggling to keep up during the pandemic. They cannot continue their work sitting at home.

TM Krishna, an author organised a DropBox Concert on Saturday at 8 pm on Instagram and Facebook for raising funds for the artists affected due to the pandemic.

The live session begun at 8 pm and ended at 1 am. The session got a lot of views. Everyone asked their queries and requested their favourite songs. The session was very interactive and there were many interesting conversations.

The concert was free for all and there were many young and senior singers like Bharat Sundar, Sumesh Narayanan and N Guruprasad who participated and enlighten the session with their little cameos. Under the DropBox concert, they collected over 12 Lakh rupees for the artist fund.

This money is for the support of artists who were  affected by the pandemic, which means at least 300 families will be supported.

After the DropBox Concert, TM Krishna shared a video on Instagram with a caption, “Thank You, a big thank you to everyone who contributed and participated in the DropBox Concert.”
