Sri Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka: Self-defence camp for girls

In the times that we live, everyone – and particularly women – must be equipped with the techniques of self-defence. And to drive home the point, thousands of girls from various schools of the south-west district demonstrated their martial-arts skills before the Joint Commissioner of Police, South West Range, Dependra Pathak, today. The event was organised at Sri Venkateshwar International School of Dwarka, Sector 18.

Inspiring the children, Pathak said more such initiatives should be organised in the area at various levels. He added that the DCP and the other police officers of the area must come up with a more structured format for such events, so that the girls – and women in general -- feel encouraged to pick up self-defence techniques. He also stressed on the need to improve communication between the police and the public through such programmes.

Along with the chairman of Sri Venketeshwar International School, Surender Solanki, DCP Surender Kumar, Additional DCP Manoj C, Additional DCP Rajesh Deo and other police officials were also present at the occasion.
