Dwarka: CitySpidey spotted broken gym equipment in an MCD park behind Radhika Apartments in Dwarka's Sector 14. The defunct and broken equipment has led to a deserted gym and left the morning and evening walkers disappointed.
“I used to exercise on the cross trainer, but it has been out of order for the past few months. Now I just come to the park and leave after doing some running and stretching,” said Vaishali Saxena, a resident of Sector 14.
Vaishnavi Gupta, who brings her 8-year-old kid to the park daily, said, “I keep a close watch because the broken equipment has sharp edges that could cause serious injury.”
CitySpidey contacted SDMC but there was no response.
A robust system to ensure timely maintenance of public property is the need of the hour. These open gyms may look deserted now, thanks to broken equipment, but on usual days they are buzzing with children and adults alike, providing them a safe haven outside of their homes.
