Surviving the streets of Delhi

A walk into the lives of Delhi's street children

Surviving the streets of Delhi Children at Yamuna Pushta

According to several reports, there are approximately 51,000 roofless children in Delhi. You can find these children sleeping under the open sky, under bridges, on rudimentary beds or blankets and even in makeshift tents.

Beyond the tourist places of Delhi, there are these smoky, noisy, crowded and chaotic streets where you will spot a dozen of little barefoot children who beg, shine shoes, pick rags, sell magazines or a bunch of flowers in order to make an effort to earn a few rupees.

Let's take a walk into the lives of Delhi's street children through these photographs.
