1. Akar Prakar

It is one of the best art galleries in Delhi which is known for Indian contemporary and modern Indian art. It was founded in 2004 by Abhijit Lath and Reena. The best thing about this gallery is that it displays its artwork in the open air.

Here you can get to see a variety of art mediums, which is not only restricted to paintings. One can enjoy visiting here to experience the expression of three different generations of art insight. Now Akar Prakar is dealing with its two galleries situated in Delhi and Kolkata.

Uniqueness is that it doesn't only represent its art in collaboration with international museums and curators but it also shows its work to people through catalogues, art journals and books.

You will get to see sculpture installation, photography, print exposition and contemporary Indian art.

2. Gallery Art. Motif.

Set up for this art gallery was done in 1995 in New Delhi. It showcases contemporary abstract and non-representational art. Contemporary abstract art gives us the freedom to seek what we want to and that's the freedom that viewers can enjoy from here.

You can get to see work by great artists like Rajnish Kaur,  Rakesh Kumar,  VS Gaitonde, Homi Patel, Rajendra Dhawan, Prabhakar Kolte and many more young artists.

3. Dhoomimal Art Gallery

This gallery was opened in 1936, which has the largest art complex in the country. It is known as one of the oldest commercial contemporary art galleries in Delhi. Anyone can visit this gallery which is 100 per cent free of cost.

You can see regular exhibitions of artists like J Swaminathan, Krishen Khanna, MF Hussain, J Swaminathan, and Shanti Dave.

4. National Gallery Of Modern Art

This beautiful gallery was inaugurated by prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru back in 1954. It has preserved works of modern art from the 1850's onward. It displays contemporary and traditional art with an amazing historical aura.

You can look forward to enjoying print photographs, paintings of great Indian artists like Rabindranath Tagore, miniature paintings, international exhibitions, abstraction in contemporary Indian art and modern sculptors.

There are no entry charges for students and children. It is Rs 20 for Indian Nationals and Rs 500 for foreign nationals.

5. Kiran Nadar Museum of Art

It is India's first private, modern and contemporary art museum. This museum has two branches, one in Noida and the other opened in Saket. It is an alluring place rich in diversity which has showcased its work in exhibitions for a lot of time. There are no entry fees.

You can feast your eyes on the masterpiece of artists like Krishen Khanna, MF Husain, Manjit Bawa, NS Harsha, and Ram Kumar, A Ramachandran, Anish Kapoor, Arpita Singh, FN Souza, Jamini Roy, and Jogen Chowdhury.
