Greater Noida West to get cremation ground

Greater Noida: In a meeting with Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), the Additional Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) Deepchand on Wednesday assured that the work on the development of cremation ground at Greater Noida West will start as soon as the necessary approval is received from the planning department.

The NEFOWA has been demanding a cremation ground and sending letters to the authority to demand the same. The members of NEFOWA had a meeting with officials at the authority's camp office in Balak Inter College in Greater Noida West.

Senior Vice President of NEFOWA Manish Kumar was present in the meeting and discussed the issue of a cremation ground in Greater Noida West citing that there is very little space for cremation near the Hindon river.

Earlier on July 15, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greater Noida Authority Narendra Bhooshan had instructed his team to work on making a CNG crematorium.

Talking to CitySpidey, President of NEFOWA Abhishek Kumar said, “The population of Greater Noida is increasing day-by-day and the residents need a proper cremation ground. Regarding this issue, we have met with the CEO and ACEO. They have assured that they will provide a CNG crematorium.”

Senior VP Kumar said, “Hindon river cremation ground has little space and the cremation grounds in Sector 94, Noida and Shafipur are far away from Greater Noida West. During Covid-19, the residents faced a lot of difficulties.”

“The authorities gave us hope and said that the work on the development of a cremation ground is under process and we hope for the best,” he added.

CitySpidey talked to the PRO of GNIDA Arvind Singh, he confirmed that the process to start the development of a cremation ground in Greater Noida West has been expedited.
