Greater Noida: After heavy rain on Saturday, the basement parking got inundated in Supertech Ecovillage 1, a highrise residential society in Greater Noida West. On Sunday, the residents found their parked vehicles almost drowned in water.

The residents shared that it is not the first time that waterlogging has happened in the basement parking. It happens every year during the monsoon because the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) of the society does not work properly. Due to this, the rainwater accumulates in the basement.

As per the residents, waterlogging in the basement can weaken the pillars of the building and will eventually affect the structure and foundation of the building. The society houses around four thousand residents and their life is in danger. Also, there is no fire alarm system and for many years, residents have been demanding such basic necessities. Residents also raised the issue of the registry.

AOA President Ashok Verma said, “It happens every year during monsoon season. The STP does not work properly and due to this, residents face many difficulties. However, the maintenance team is on their work and pumped out the water with the help of a water pump.”

Sameer Bharadwaj, a resident of Ecovillage 1 said, “Residents have to park their vehicle in waterlogged water. We have complained many times about this issue but there is no improvement.  After heavy rains, water gets accumulated in the basement and vehicles drown in water which is a serious issue.”

CitySpidey also tried to reach the maintenance team but there was no response from their side.
