Himalaya Pride: Residents stage sit-in protest to demand basic facilities

Greater Noida: The residents of Himalaya Pride, a residential society in Techzone 4, Greater Noida West along with Noida Estate Flat Owners Main Association (NEFOMA) on Monday evening protested against the builder and maintenance team for not providing basic facilities on a day-to-day basis. The protest was led by NEFOMA.

The residents have been proactively raising their voices to demand their due rights. On August 20, along with the NEFOMA team, they met Yogendra Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Central Noida to raise the issue of lack of basic facilities and security in the residential societies of Greater Noida West.

Arjun Singh, a resident of Himalaya Pride alleged that the builder is not providing the facilities which were mentioned at the time of buying the flat, the basement gets flooded in the rain. It can affect the vehicles as they almost drown. There is no proper drainage system. The residents are facing a lot of troubles.”

Devendra Singh, another resident of the society said, “We have been living in the society for the last three years. There is a lack of basic amenities and security. On the entry side of the building, there  is no security system in place.”

NEFOMA President Annu Khan said, “The residents of Himalaya Pride society keep on complaining about problems like inadequate security arrangements, inconsistent garbage collection, inflated electricity bills, incidents of dog bites etc. They staged a sit-in protest to draw the attention of the builder.”
