GreNo: Free green belt from encroachers, demand NEFOMA and residents

Greater Noida: Noida Estate Flat Owners Main Association (NEFOMA) met with ACEO Amandeep Tuli on Wednesday to talk on issues regarding green belt in Greater Noida West. NEFOMA demanded the green belt to be cleaned  and freed from encroachers. Members of Durga Enclave Resident Welfare Association from Hebatpur were also present there.

After a lot of efforts by NEFOMA behind the small Milk Green Arch Society in Texon 4, the work of cleaning the green belt was being done by the authority. However, the work was stopped for a few days due to which a lot of garbage has been collected. NEFOMA member Deepak demanded ACEO to start the work again.

According to Santos Verma, Secretary, Durga Enclave Resident Welfare Association said that in Hebatpur, colonizers have illegally occupied the green belt and rented out shops in which car garage, cement shop, mobile phone,  slum, illegal liquor business, etc have been established. Because of this, women and children are afraid to leave the house.

He said, "Garbage is sorted by dumping the garbage carts in the Green Belt, due to which the surroundings are getting contaminated causing spread of diseases. Dead animals are also cremated in the pit in the Green Belt. Complains have been registered many times but due to the connivance of the officers, the green belt is not being vacated.”

Annu Khan, President, NEFOMA said, "Illegal nursery waste dumping, illegal scrap trade etc. is being done at various places in Greater Noida West. If the authority does not vacate its land soon, then the slums, huts and shanties there will cause harm to society residents and environment will be spoiled."
