Potholed roads, defunct lights in Sector 8, Dwarka

Residents of Sector 8, Dwarka, are tired of the non-functional streetlights and waterlogged, potholed roads in the area. The condition has worsened in the past month or so with heavy rains lashing the city.

According to the RWA of the sector, the problems persist in all the four blocks. Apart from the safety issue, there's also the threat of mosquitoes breeding in the collected rainwater on the streets.

Joint secretary PS Dhunta says Block D is the worst affected. "The streets are dark and the roads have potholes filled with muddy rainwater. How can this be the state of one of the most posh sectors in the sub-city? The worst part is that though the SDMC, the DDA and BSES know about the situation here, they have not lifted a finger to do anything about it. We have written to them at least 25-30 times!" he adds.
