Gurugram: Sec 22B gets submerged in water after heavy rain

Gurugram: After heavy overnight rain, the entire area got inundated at Sector 22B in Gurugram on Wednesday. The residents are facing a tough time as water has entered their houses as well.

The roads in the area are completely submerged, giving tough time to the commuters. People were seen walking in almost knee-deep water. They were forced to fold their pants while commuting.

Baffled with the current situation, the President of Sector 22B RWA Bhim Singh accused the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram’s (MCG) officials of indifference. Singh has also written a letter to the commissioner of the MCG requesting him to take immediate action.

“This is to bring to your kind notice that as a responsible citizens of sector 22B society, we had paid 100 percent property tax to the government. But from last four years, no road maintenance, no rain water harvesting as well as no sewerage cleaning was done,” the letter mentioned.

“Hence the results of which are now being faced by residents of sector 22B in terms of heavy water logging near police mess as well as near community centre of our sector,” the letter further read.

Singh was also concerned about a park wall near police mess in Sector 22B. He said, “MCG officials are waiting for the mishappening to occur that's why park wall near police mess is not maintained. It can fall down anytime and can lead to major accident.”
