At the meeting, Kumar said that under Sections 331, 335 and 336 of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, it is mandatory for those doing any kinds of commercial activities located within the limits of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, to obtain a trade license.

He said, “It is mandatory to obtain a trade license under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act. We have issued a notification giving exemption in payment of property tax. This discount will be available only till September 30. 25 per cent amount has been waived off in the property tax for the financial year 2021-22 and 10 percent rebate is being given on the remaining amount.”

He has asked the mall operators to ensure that the commercial establishments located in their respective malls obtain trade licenses and pay the outstanding property tax.

In the recent past, the civic body has sealed a number of commercial establishments which were operating without valid trade licenses.
