New Delhi: As the rain persisted for the third day in a row, drainage in various regions failed completely. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an orange alert for the capital on Wednesday. Delhi received 112.1 mm rainfall, the highest one-day precipitation since 19 years.

Record rainfall in Delhi caused disorder leading to traffic in many parts of the city, including Chanakyapuri, Connaught Place, ITO, Janpath, and Ring Road.

Many of these areas were flooded with rainwater. Moreover, many underpasses were closed as a result of waterlogging causing more problems. Metros were delayed, and many coaches were jampacked. Pedestrians faced problems in walking as did the conveyors while riding to work.
