Noida: Despite regular complaints by the residents of Mahadev Apartments, a residential society in Sector 73, Noida, several streets remain in darkness due to overgrown trees at light points.
The Noida Authority tweeted on Friday that they have pruned the trees but later, the residents retweeted by saying that the condition is still the same and the street remains in darkness.

CitySpidey had reported this issue earlier as well about thickets coat street lights leading to darkness on lanes. The residents said that due to this, every citizen is unsafe, especially senior citizens, children and women. There have been incidents of snatching also.
“Few days ago, at night, some people climbed up and were cutting the electricity wires. Some also sabotaged a car of a resident. It becomes difficult to move around in the evening. Some solution should be found or there will be a fatal accident,” said Lal Singh, a resident of Mahadev Apartments.

He also added, “This issue has been pending for the last five months and almost 200 times residents have tweeted to raise this issue to authority. These dark spots on streets whip up petty crimes.”
