Gurugram: Choked, overflowing sewer lines affect life in Sec 23A

Gurugram: Choked and overflowing sewer lines has not only pain in the neck for the residents living in sector 23A but the aspiring civil servant on Sunday themselves experienced the apathetic attitude of the civic authorities in ensuring proper cleaning of sewerage.

The residents of the sector informed that UPSC examination was being held in the senior secondary school in Caterpuri village and the condition of the road in front of the school was eyesore besides emanating the foul smell.

The residents claimed that the sewer water has been overflowing for the last five days and despite informing the concerned civic body official, nothing has been done so far.

"The officials of Municipal Corporation of Gururgam have turned a blind eye to the situation despite our pleas on the matter. The sewer line of village Caterpuri and Sector 23A is a perennial problem and no permanent solution has been provided yet. Sewer water flows on the road all day as all the sewer lines are choked," said Malkhan Singh, RWA president of Sector 23A.

Moreover, the stagnated water is also damaging the road. They have urged the civic authority to repair the road and clean sewer lines in the sector and village so that people don't face any inconvenience.
