Manohar Lal Khattar also declares Nov 1 as Haryana Day and says PM Narendra Modi would be the chief guest at the celebrations.

Gurgaon Development Authority set to be formed on Nov 1 Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar addresses students at a school on Teachers' Day in Gurgaon.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday at a press conference in Gurgaon announced the formation of Gurgaon Development Authority on November 1, 2016. As the state would complete 50 years of its formation on the day, it would be celebrated as Haryana Day. The CM also announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the chief guest on Haryana Day celebrations.

The formation of Gurgaon Development Authority had been a long-standing demand of the residents. They claimed that the city has not been able to achieve overall development due to overlapping powers of civic authorities like the HUDA and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon.

Khattar said, “We cannot change the way the city has been planned. But now, the government has prepared a comprehensive plan for overall development of Gurgaon”.

"In order to make commuting hassle-free on NH 8, three junctions will be remodelled. The foundation will be laid by Mr Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, on September 11. These intersections are IFFCO Chowk, Signature Tower and Rajiv Chowk. The work on remaining part of KMP expressway will also resume this month as the joint survey has been completed and financial closure by the previous concessionaire has also been done," added Khattar.
