Greater Noida: Gaur City's 1st Avenue team lifts Friendship Cup

Greater Noida: The Friends Cricket Club, a cricket team of 1st Avenue in Gaur City, Greater Noida West on Tuesday won the Friendship Cup, which was organised at Rajaji Ground. Five cricket teams of different societies from Greater Noida and Noida participated in it.

Teams of Panchsheel Hynish, Greater Noida West; Panchachuli Apartments, Sector 61, Noida; Rajat Vihar, Sector 62, Noida; and Eros Sampoornam, Greater Noida West participated in the competition.

Secretary of Samajwadi Party, Prince Mukhiya was the Chief Guest of the event. Under the leadership of captain Amit Bansal, the FCC team won all their league matches and went to play the final match. They had won the toss and decided to bat first.

Rahul Yadav scored 41 runs and Manish Yadav scored 64 runs on behalf of FCC. The team's final score was 201. In response, Team Winner Cricket Club, the team of Rajat Vihar, Sector 61, Noida under the captaincy of Pradeep Basoya, was all out at 131 runs while chasing the target.

CitySpidey talked to the winning team. “It's been a great competitive tournament, we played as a team and all of my teammates performed well to win this tournament,” said Amit Bansal, Captain of Friends Cricket Club.

“It's never been easy to score high against a good bowling side like Winners Cricket Club, our boys played with patience and built a big score which was enough to keep the opponent under pressure,” said Neeraj Garg, player of Friends Cricket Club.

“We had a good start but we could not capitalise it later in the game and FCC scored a good score in the final in the end,” said Surender Yadav, a player of Friends Cricket Club.
