Mahadev Apartments: Thefts continue, anti-social elements roam in society

Noida: The residents of Mahadev Apartments, a residential society in Sector 73, Noida are angered after the sudden surge in the cases of thefts and burglaries. The society has over 1,200 flats and according to the residents, outsiders come and drink alcohol every day inside and around the society premises.

As per residents, when they are asked to stop, some chaotic elements also misbehave with the residents and security personnel. These incidents are increasing continuously.

“Two days ago, two boys in a car committed indecency with a woman inside the society. On September 6, two chaotic elements were caught drinking alcohol openly. After such an incident, there is an atmosphere of fear among the residents,” said Krishna Kumar Singh, another resident of Mahadev Apartments.

He also added, “Society's walls need to be raised higher. Brick powder is kept behind the wall, due to which they climb outside and come inside.”

According to the residents, a few days ago, the theft took place by breaking the lock on the ground floor of 72 block. Thieves took away a resident’s ply etc.

“Our society has become home for drunkards, due to which every resident of the society fears going outside in the evening. It has become more difficult for women of the society to go out,” said Khushbu Singh, a resident of Mahadev Apartments.

“I had kept two chairs at my terrace which had been stolen by somebody. These kinds of thefts are increasing day by day in our society,” said Vidhyadhar Tripathi, resident of the society.
