Aditya Celebrity Homes: Residents face Ganga water shortage

Noida: Residents of Aditya Celebrity Homes, a residential society in Sector 76, Noida are experiencing a shortage in supply of Ganga water for the last 2-3 days. It is affecting their daily chores.

“The supply of Ganga water is scheduled twice in a day for approximately an hour both times. For the last 3-4 days, the pressure is very low and water is not being supplied for more than 30-35 minutes both times and even missed completely on Wednesday morning. This forced the societies to order water tankers from private operators,” said Punit Sharma, President of Aditya Celebrity Homes.

“The residents are forced to consume water with high TDS as the tanker water is sourced through boring wells. The erratic supply has become an every month affair where it gets disturbed after every few weeks and there is no long-term solution in sight,” he added.

“This is a very strange situation where we need to struggle with basic facilities like water and we are calling Noida as the prominent city of Uttar Pradesh. Even Noida Authority doesn't bother to inform in advance about any planned maintenance so that we can make some alternate arrangements. The Noida Authority is very punctual in one thing and that is raising invoices for water supply without doing supply,” said Rajesh Singh, a resident of the society.

“Noida Authority or any mobile company or electricity department keeps digging the road which mostly damages the Ganga water pipeline. Moreover, these pipelines are rusted and old and not well maintained, more reasons for quick damage.
