WATCH | Malfunctioning traffic signal leads to violations in Dwarka

Dwarka: The signals at the chowk of Sector 4/12 near Dwarka International School have been a cause of distress for commuters since long. Commuters are violating traffic rules, and thus receiving challans regularly. However, the story is more complex than meets the eye at first.

Cars waiting at a signal with defunct lights.

At the particular chowk, the signals from Ashirvad Chowk towards sector 3/4/12/14 chowk on road number 202 are not working properly. And thus, commuters are getting confused.

On close inspection, CitySpidey found that the red lights and timers are not working but the green lights are working. In this particular situation, commuters are getting confused about whether they should cross the signal or stop even if there is no red light visible for that particular direction. On the other hand, the hand signals on the other three sides of the chowk are working properly.

The subject is pertinent as it is evident that the spot is one of the busiest roads of Dwarka. The video taken by CitySpidey is showing how the malfunction is happening and how the commuters are getting confused and violating the traffic rules. The video was made to make the community and authorities aware of the subject.
