Dwarka: One can see missing drains and dumped silts on the footpath in front of the Raman Vihar Apartments in Sector 11, Dwarka.

CitySpidey, in its continuous effort to highlight basic civic issues, has come up with a photo-based report which shows the poor state of open drains and dumped silts near Sector 11 market of the sub-city.

Residents of the society said that these drains should be covered as soon as possible as they are a threat to the people residing in the society.

Ruchika Mittal, a resident of Sector 11 said, “This issue has been raised so many times and the authorities are ignorant towards it.”

Besides, the drains on the footpath can be seen left open, making it difficult and dangerous for pedestrians to walk over. They are constantly under threat of diseases such as malaria, dengue, skin infection and many others.

Ramesh Nagar, a resident of Sector 11 said, “With most drains not being cleaned for a month or more now, most of these channels are full of silt and garbage too. It can bring lots of vector-borne diseases.

Unsafe footpaths at Sector 11

The department concerned, looking after these works, should take this issue into their concern and do the needful to make the footpath completely safe and available for the walkers.
