EcoVillage 2- Residents raise concerns over bad water supply

Greater Noida: The residents of EcoVillage 2, Greater Noida West raised the issue of bad water supply due to which residents are getting sick. A resident  group of EcoVillage 2 tweeted saying, “Our Society's children have been vomiting from the last 2 days due to bad water supply in the society. Kindly the authorities take action ASAP to prevent any kind of mishap”.

Cityspidey talked to the residents to understand their concerns.

Sushil Katiyar, a resident of the society, said, “The speed with which everyone's health is deteriorating in every tower, it clearly seems to be an issue of water. The last time the water tank was cleaned was in January. Now it is happening in September, which is very sad. The water tank should be cleaned every 2-3 months”.

“There is a water tank in the tower. We tweeted  about its  cleanliness. The builder has not even put a lid on the water tanks of many towers. Due to which, the dirt keeps going in the water tank. For this reason, people are also becoming sick. That's the issue”, said Satyendra, resident of the society.

“The tank that has been made is not made in a correct way by the builder. If there was a proper lid to cover this tank, then this problem would not be there today. That is why the holes are mostly open and rain water, bacteria are wandering near the water tank which then goes inside it. This is not the fault of the facility actually, they are working on that, they are trying to clean the tank but no permanent solution has been done”, said Anupam, a resident of the society.

CitySpidey also talked to Nitish Arora, Director of Facilities. He said, "One in six months, the water tank is cleaned. At these times, water could get a little contaminated and we suggest people to store water at such times. Today, the cleaning of tank was scheduled and it has been done. There is nothing to worry about now"
