On August 27, residents raised the issue of the non-functioning and inefficient fire safety system in their society and wrote a letter to Senior Fire Officer to inspect the society's fire safety systems.
According to the residents, the society does not have fire alarm safety systems in society.
Hose pipes are not sufficiently long. Basements 1 and 2 have very few fires extinguisher. Around 400 residents live in the society and this negligence puts their safety at risk.
Arnismesh Kumar, AOA President shared, “It was very important to audit the fire infrastructure of Aishwaryam Society and fix it by providing an adequate amount of fire extinguishers on every floor along with developing a process plan for evacuation and providing a response in case of a fire outbreak in any of the towers or common area.”
Deepak Prasad Gupta, Secretary of AOA, shared, “The fire hydrants of basements B1 & B2 are not in a condition to be used, they need to be updated with a fire hose, reel, and nozzles. A fire point needs to be set up in both basements near the security guard post consists of both types of fire extinguishers.”
Ajay Kumar Singh, Fire Safety Officer said, “We inspected the society with the residents and all the safety issues will be fixed. We are on the audit report, we need to check the society map.”
