GreNo West: Unkept promise; residents still wait for hospital to be functional

Greater Noida: Residents of Gaur City 2, a residential township in Greater Noida West are still asking for the hospital which was promised to them by the builder. The sprawling society has more than  2,000 flats . Many residents said that they preferred to buy a flat inside Gaur City 2 because of the proposed hospital which is still not operational. They also said that in order to get ready for the third wave, hospital is very important. Cityspidey talked to the residents to know their concerns.

Sagarika Kar, a resident of the society said, “Hospital is one of the most required facilities of our life. Logically, it is expected to have a hospital within 5 km from where we reside. However, it is unfortunate that we don’t have any such facility around. We were so happy to see the construction of a hospital building next to Divyansh Flora in Gaur City 2. However, due to the pandemic, the whole project went into hold and everything got stopped. We understood the situation due to which the project got stuck but we were expecting that when everything gets normal, the project will also resume again. But somehow we can’t see anything going on in this project. We have started to get back to our normal lifestyle but I don’t understand why the construction work for this hospital is still on hold.”

She further added, “I would like to bring this to the notice of Gaur (builder) and all the people responsible for this construction that if you would have taken this project seriously, you could have saved multiple lives during the second wave. This hospital is a necessity for Gaur City residents and can be a great success in future”.

“This hospital in Gaur City 2 is under construction for 3 years now but It still isn’t completed yet. Its structure was completed in 2017 and shops have also started below but why so much delay in important things like hospitals? Had this hospital been ready, a lot of lives could have been saved in the second wave of Covid. Now, the 3rd wave is going to start but there is no progress in the hospital”, said Tanmay Tyagi, a resident of Gaur City 2.

Rakesh Ranjan, another resident of the society, said, “When we bought the apartment here, the hospital was the key factor in decision making. We experienced a lot of life losses and tough times during Covid pandemic when our loved ones were rushing to hospitals. We badly missed the hospital in our vicinity. From day one, school, shopping complex, and the hospital was part of the GC2 township. While other services are being offered by the builder, no action has been taken on hospital construction. Building structure is ready but no idea why it has not been made operational so far. We even requested GNIDA CEO and DM GB Nagar during AOA meetings last year when we were discussing ideas to fight covid. We proposed that the government should take control of the building and start a covid care ward for us. But no action from government officials as well”.

Harshvardhan Angar, another resident added that "We had requested multiple times to the Gaur Sons to start the Hospital immediately. But there is no effect on them. While we were buying our flat, we had been told that we will get a fully functional hospital of 600 beds, a park, and many more things. But haven't seen any development from their side."

We have reached out to the builder's office and waiting for his response. We will update the story as soon as we get a response from their end.
