Greater Noida: Residents of Nirala Greenshire society, Greater Noida West raised the issue of increasing common area charges despite lack of basic amenities in the society.
Residents shared that they complained about this issue in front of the authority last year. However, there is still no response from the authority and residents are facing several problems. Residents alleged that the builder charges the common area charge from the electric meter, according to them if they protest then the builder will cut their electricity connection.
Residents said that there is no point in giving maintenance charges or common area charges when the condition of the society is pathetic. The roads are broken, the rainwater is logged, there is no proper parking area in the society and no green belt. Society is under construction. The current rate of common area charge is 0.40 paise per square foot.

Kapil Khare, a resident of the society said, “Without taking any consent, builders increased the common area charges. We complained about this to the authorities but for the last year, there has been no action. There is a lack of basic amenities in society. We are paying maintenance charges but there is no development in the society. The condition of the society is the same for years.”
Another resident Rituraj shared, “It is not a matter of one problem. Residents have been demanding basic amenities for many years. No one has listened to us. Builder encroached on the green area of the society and made parking at that place.”
“In 2018, the construction of the swimming pool was started but it is not completed yet. Builder increases the common area charge without taking the consent of any resident. In other societies, the common area charge is included in maintenance charges,” he said.
CitySidey has contacted the builder but there has been no response from him.
