Greater Noida: The residents of Mayfair Residency, a highrise society in Techzone 4, Greater Noida West, on Sunday protested against the builder for the issues prevalent in the society.
Residents shared a tweet, “@myogiadityanath आज दिनांक 19.09.2021 लगातार 12वे हफ़्ते मेफ़ेयर निवासियों द्वारा बिल्डर द्वारा की जा रही बर्बरता उत्पीड़न के ख़िलाफ़ धरना प्रदर्शन किया गया बिल्डर सुरक्षा सुविधाएँ नहीं देना चाहता उसका उत्पीड़न जारी है @UPGovt @OfficialGNIDA @UPRERAofficial @nbhooshan @dmgbnagar.”

Residents shared that after getting the agreement to sublease, the builder isn't giving security to the residents and is forcibly signing the undertaking from the flat buyers of towers A, B, C, D so that they cannot complain against the builder anywhere.

The residents shared that around 70 families are presently living in towers A, B, C and D of the society. The other eight towers are under construction. Society doesn’t have internal roads and there is no electricity grid.

Residents shared that the builder gave possession illegally without taking Occupancy Certificate and Completion Certificate (OC/CC). Tower A, B, C and D have one lift respectively. Moreover, society is under construction for the last 12 years. Residents alleged that the entrance of the parking area is sealed.
Prateek Baijal, a resident of the society said, “We have to live in this under-construction society. There is no OC/CC of the towers. There is no Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in society. Builder illegally allowed residents possession on an agreement of sublease and is now depriving them of services.”
Another resident, Vivek shared that, “Whenever you buy any flat, there is a builder buyer agreement, in which they share the basic amenities which they will provide to the buyers. We are not asking for a gym or pool, we are just asking for the basic amenities like good roads, water, electricity etc. The builder is acting like a dictator, he is forcing residents to sign undertaking forms and without OC/CC, the builder doesn’t have the right to charge maintenance charges. The builder has been violating many guidelines.”
An official in the builder's office on condition of anonymity shared, “We have already applied for the OC in the authority but there is no response from their side. On the basis of the District Magistrate order, we did a sublease of the buyers. Society is under construction. The project will be completed in the year 2022. Almost 10 or 20 residents are only paying the maintenance charges and electricity charges.”
