Work on GreNo West metro route expected to start in December

Greater Noida: The work to connect Greater Noida West via metro is expected to start in December. The state government has sent the proposal to the central government for approval. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Greater Noida West metro route has already been approved by the state government.

The tender has been opened for the companies for the new route of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). After getting approval, the NMRC will choose the company. The work is expected to start from December.

Three companies have offered their bid the procedure for selecting the company has started. It is expected that the project will cost around Rs 1,100 crores in which civil work cost comes around Rs 500 crore. It is expected that the work will be completed within 24 months.

The route will be covering an area of 9.15 kilometers, in which, five stations will be covered from Sector 71 to Sector 2 in Greater Noida West. There will be five stations – Sector 122, 123, Sector 4 Greater Noida West, Sector 12 Ecotech and Sector 2 Greater Noida West.

A member of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) shared, “This route will be beneficial for the commuters of Greater Noida West. Approximately 6 to 7 lakh people will take the benefits of this route. We think it would be more helpful for the population of Greater Noida West if it will be connected with the DMRC route.”
