PCOS and PCOD are conditions that affect women's endocrine and reproductive systems. Polycystic ovaries are followed by polycystic ovarian disease and lastly, it becomes polycystic ovarian syndrome. Women suffering from PCOS and PCOD generally experience symptoms like irregular menstrual cycle, weight gain, facial hair growth, pigmentation, polycystic ovary syndrome.

It is necessary to observe and to be aware of our body, to notify and seek professional help if we undergo irregular changes. PCOS and PCOD occur in the reproductive age of women. Research says this condition occurs when an individual faces an imbalance in their lifestyle in respect of consuming food, sleeping patterns, and lack of workout in daily routine.

If symptoms will not be taken under concern and an individual would not follow steps to cure their health they may face problems like anxiety disorder, premenstrual syndrome, and depression.

If steps are taken properly to control the effects of PCOD such as a correct and balanced eating routine, low consumption of carbohydrates and more protein and fat, regular exercise, and proper sleep, one can notice reversing signs of PCOS and PCOD, here are some of the signs shared by  Gynecologist, Dr Amodita Ahuja:

  1. Regularity in the menstrual cycle
  2. If you are overweight and wish to lose some kilos to be healthy once again, you will observe it is easy to cut some weight, in comparison to the past.
  3. Hyperpigmentation from the areas like the neck, arm, and face will fade away.
  4. If PCOS or PCOD has caused you acne, your acne will go away which will be a sign of improvement.
  5. Over time with a healthy diet, your hair fall will also reduce.

Dr Ahuja has also shared some instructions which one can follow to notice the above-mentioned improvements:

  1. Continue the regular exercise routine, which will not only improve your signs but also keep you energetic throughout the day.
  2. Follow the proper diet, with less carbs and more protein every day.
  3. Regulate your sleeping cycle to stay lethargy-free, for example: sleeping at 11:00 pm and getting up at 7:00 am.
  4. Stress busters like yoga and meditation should be part of the lifestyle
  5. Avoid smoking and alcohol as much as possible.
