GreNo West: Rainwater deluges basement of Nirala Greenshire

Greater Noida: A few hours of rainfall on Thursday evening deluged the basement of Nirala Greenshire, a residential society in Greater Noida West. However, this shows how grossly waterproofing and other fine details have been neglected as according to the residents, this happens after every rain.

The residents of the society said that it is going to be four years but Nirala's engineers and Nirala management have not been able to arrange the drainage of water. In a little rain, the park turns into a pond and basement parking becomes a gathering of springs and ponds. It is known that residents are troubled for four years. The residents of the society faced immense problems as the water not only inundated basements but also lifts of the society.

CitySpidey talked to the residents of the society to know their concerns.

Kapil Khare, a resident of the society, said, “Water is flowing like a waterfall in the parking lot due to late-night rain. Water filled many vehicles parked in the parking lot. There is no arrangement for drainage of water in the above area. Somewhere there is dampness, due to which the age of the building is also decreasing, because of which the residents of the society will have to suffer. This is minus one basement of the society, and yesterday with little rain the basement turned into a flooded area. The parking area becomes a mess every time, residents are in fear to park their vehicles inside this scenario of basements.”

Another resident, Rituraj said, “If a short spell of rainfall happens then, you can imagine what will happen if there will be more rain. Yesterday something very shocking happened, I called two workers to stop the waterfall inside the lifts. Otherwise, the entire water would have gone inside the lifts also. The rain lasted just for half an hour, and this happened.”
