Mahagun Mirabella: Residents panicked by stagnant water in villa swimming pools

Noida: Residents are afraid of vector-borne diseases as water has logged in the exclusive swimming pools of the under-construction villas in Mahagun Mirabella, Sector 79, Noida. According to the residents, the construction done by workers has resulted in unhygienic conditions. The situation has worsened with the dumping of debris and the stagnation of water.

They said that they have reported this issue to the maintenance team but till now nothing has been done. According to the residents, there have been instances when snakes have also been found roaming in society.

Ashok Vardhan, a resident of the society, said, “I have complained to the builder/maintenance team, but the situation has not changed. There are under construction villas (16 total) in our society with exclusive pools in every villa. Rainwater has accumulated in these villas which are the best places for snakes, breeding of mosquitoes and spread of diseases.”

Another resident, Sumit Kumar Singh said, “The water is accumulated in these villas/societies. It is one of the main sources of mosquito breeding. They are doing partial fogging only instead of providing permanent solutions.”

“Waterlogging is a major issue here. We know it is under construction but construction leftover is there all over the society. There is water leakage in the basement area. Two days back, there was water leakage in the clubhouse of the society,” said Akshant Chauhan, a resident of the society.

Cityspidey also talked to the maintenance team of the society. Prakash Mehra, an official from the maintenance team, said, “There are some labour issues, which have now been sorted. From tomorrow onwards, we will start the cleaning. It will be done by Monday.”
