Just what exactly happened at Dwarka's Aakash Ganga AGM

A host of issues were discussed at the Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Aakash Ganga CGHS chaired by President of the Society, Dr (Maj) J C Vashista. Held last week, the 30th AGM, attended by 45 members, had the following 5 highlights.

  • Audited accounts for financial year 2014-15 were discuseed and accpeted by all members.
  • Members expressed satisfaction with Delhi Jal Board for supplying adequate amount of water ever since the Board took over from April 1, 2015.
  • The Society president explained the slab based electricity billing system by BSES (effective from October 1, 2015) adopted by the Society.
  • Announcement  made about an annual grant of Rs 31,000 (approx.) which Aakash Ganga will receive from Ministry of Environment's Park and Garden Society (Delhi govt.) to maintain compulsory green cover.
  • Children will not be allowed to play football/cricket in the park despite few parents expressing displeasure over the ban. The ban is in order to maintain the green cover within the premises.
