The aromatic world of coffee!

The aroma of freshly baked coffee beans is the best feeling for all coffee lovers. People enjoy their coffee in the morning and ending their nights with one. Its been enjoyed by all the different age groups. It is said, “A lot can happen over a single cup of coffee,” as for some it induces energy and zeal to lead the work.

Delhi is a hub for cafes where all kinds of coffees are served, and in India, we have more than 16 types of coffee varieties. A coffee addict would know the best cafes for classic and aromatic coffees. It is not just a coffee. It’s an emotion and comfort for many.

India, the land of diversity offers different kinds of coffee with unique methods of preparation. Over the years, it has also become the hub for modern coffee preparations. Let me acquaint you with the popular kinds of coffee in India:

South Indian filter coffee

The aroma of this filter coffee will hit you hard with its intense fragrance. The foamy mix of espresso decoction, hot milk and sugar, served in a steel cup, straightforwardly stirs your spirit. Indeed, Filter Kaapi or Filter Coffee has quite a theatrical method of preparation. Pouring the espresso to and fro at a misrepresented tallness froths it and makes this brew all engaging. A definitive delight you’d get by tasting Filter Coffee at an attractive South Indian restaurant is unmatched.

Bella Kaapi

Bella Kaapi is solely for all the back coffee lovers. This coffee has a different fan following. And personally, it’s one of my favourites. It’s prepared by boiling the ground roasted coffee beans in the water. After cooking, jaggery is added for sweetness. The addition of jaggery into this coffee will give a lovely smokey taste to it. Adding few blends of spices like cinnamon, ginger and cardamom to the mixture can rock your kaapi and even be an excellent cure for cold and cough.

Espresso

Espresso has no milk, no added sugar, just a pure form of coffee. It’s a foundation for many types of coffee preparation. Many recipes include single or double shots of espresso. It is the purest form of coffee and it’s not for everyone, one has to develop a taste for espresso.

Indian hand-beaten Coffee

Our ancient hand beaten Indian coffee is a favourite of every household. It was renewed during the 2020 lockdown period as Dalgona coffee took the entire Instagram by the storm. Every single person was trying the famous dalgona coffee. It is also known as “Phitti hui coffee” by our elders. This hand beaten espresso stands tall as a simple endeavour to prepare a warm cup of cappuccino in our desi kitchens.

To set up this, beat espresso and sugar blend till your arms hurt severely. Fuse some air into it. And afterwards, pour this ambivalent foamy combination into a glass loaded up with hot milk. There you go, you can drink up Desi Cappuccino from the solace of your home if you'd put this installation into a glass of cold milk! You got yourself a glass of Dalgona Coffee.

Latte

A latte is a coffee drink with espresso, steamed milk and a thickness of foam on top. Latte has ⅓ espresso and 2/3 cooked milk, with a light layer of foam on top. Oh, and a macchiato is just espresso with a more solid layer of foam on top. The best milk to use for a cafe latte is full milk. Why? Whole milk froths the best because it has the highest milk fat.

Frapacchino/Classic cold coffee

It’s everyone favourite, from children to adults; all the ages love it. It’s a mixture of milk, ice cream and chocolate syrup and our winning element, coffee. This item is the most ordered beverage type in almost all the cafes. It is the best complementary side beverage one can enjoy while eating their favourite meal.

Mocha

It is one of the most delicious kinds among all diverse types of coffee. A Mocha consists of a shot of espresso combined with a spoon of chocolate powder; on top, you have to add heated milk and 2-3 cm of foam, finally, some sprinkles of chocolate powder. Voila, your mocha is ready.

Everyone loves all the above coffees, so try them and enjoy your days with a cup of coffee.
