Dwarka: If you are commuting in Dwarka and going towards Sector 11, near Aashirwad Chowk, Dwarka Sector 11 crossing, you can find a big pothole in the middle, due to which the vehicles have to slow down and lower their speed to cross that spot.
The turn near Aashirwad Chowk is especially dangerous as potholes are deep and spread all over the road. People commuting on two-wheelers often find it difficult to navigate as the road is also deprived of proper light. The road is full of trees that obstruct the light and street lights are also defunct.
Amit Mehtani, a resident of Dwarka, tweeted, “A large part of the road is caving in & needs urgent attention near Aashirwad Chowk Dwarka Sector 11 crossing, #NewDelhi. @dcptwr @dtptraffic @OfficialSdmc.”
Mohit Sharma, a resident of Sector 11, said, “I have been trying to get in touch with the authorities since August. I tried to contact them but they haven't been responding. We have seen one-to-many accidents on this road. People get injured because of this pothole-ridden road. It is completely destroyed and we need someone to fix it immediately.”
When CitySpidey asked about the frequent accidents on the road, Sharma added, “People usually sort out the matter among themselves. But I have witnessed many accidents here, I remember seeing one accident which happened two months ago.”
Now the situation has become worse as the surface near the pothole has become increasingly damaged in the stretch. CitySpidey is trying to attract the attention of the authorities to take the matter into concern and make the roads safe for commuters.
