Sky Gardens: Guards revolt against non-payment of salary, close all three gates

Greater Noida: Anguished by the non-payment of salaries, the security guards of Shri Radha Sky Garden, a residential society in Greater Noida West, revolted and closed all the three gates of the society on Friday morning. As a result, the residents found it very difficult to go out from society.

As gathered by residents, the security guards and housekeeping staff were protesting peacefully for the past one week against the Shree Group builder due to non-payment of salary for the last 2-3 months. Such demonstrations had become common every month because the builder kept withholding the payment of the employees every month.

Gaurav Patel, a resident of the society said, “Suddenly at around 11 am this morning, the security personnel refused to work and closed all the three gates of the society not allowing the residents and visitors to come and go, causing great trouble to the residents of the society. Due to which more than 800 families of the society are feeling cheated and taken hostage.”

The aftermath of this incident has triggered several grievances against the builder. Piyush Sharma, a resident of the society said, “Every month due to non-payment of electricity bills of lakhs of rupees, NPCL staff takes action. The fuses are taken out, due to which electricity is given to the residents through the generator back up throughout the day, which is much more expensive than the normal power supply.”

Mrigank Kumar, a resident of the society said, “Till date, the club, swimming pool and gym have not been handed over in the society, while the residents are living in the society for the last four years and we residents paid lakhs of rupees for these facilities years ago.”

Samir Kapoor, a resident of the society said, “There are many more problems in the society from the builder’s side. Since the last three months, the lifts of about eight residential towers have been damaged, which have not been repaired for the last three months due to non-payment of lakhs of rupees for the lift AMC. All the residents are thus forced to use one. There is always a fear among residents that if this lift also gets damaged then what will happen.”

Residents of the society including Rakesh Kumar, Raj Gaurav, Rajneesh, and Anurag Sharan told CitySpidey that they have made complaints regarding their issues all over the place including Greater Noida Authority, District Magistrate, Police Commissioner, Fire Department, but to date, all the problems of the whole areas remain unresolved. “No official is ready to listen and no one cares for more than 800 families. Now it seems that everyone is just waiting for some big event,” they replied.

After the police complaint was filed by the residents, the builder has assured the guards that their dues will be cleared in the afternoon. On which, the security guard has told the residents that if it doesn’t happen today then they will file a police complaint along with other residents of the society.
