Dwarka: Pedestrian rights go for toss with open drain in Sector 3

Dwarka: The photograph is of Sector 3, Dwarka. The road in view is just in front of the neighbourhood park behind Balaji Apartments in Sector 3. One can see how the covers from the drain are missing and how the pedestrians are using the road along the open drain.

Just at the gate, there is a small space that is covered so that a person could enter the park. Except for that place, the entire stretch along the wall of the park is almost open with missing covers. Such a condition does not only pose a risk for accidents but also may be a potential breeding ground for diseases.

In a city where there is a talk of pedestrian rights from the authority and community both, the present reality of an open drain along a road is telling the truth about how seriously the issue is being taken.
