Noida: Sec 78 road stretch along drain in bad state for four years

Noida: Broken roads are not a new story in Noida, however, a stretch in Sector 78 has been in such a bad state that residents are now alarmed. The residents have run out of patience because of the road stretch under the bridge of Sector 78 metro station along a drain. Not only that, the railing is also broken.

According to the residents, the patch of more than 100 meters has been in bad condition for more than four years. There is a drain beside the road and the railing is also broken. Residents shared that once a car fell into the drain.

Brajesh Sharma, a resident of Sector 78 said, “Even though many roads in 7X have been made in no time with good quality, this particular patch along NMRC route (via sector 76-101-81-NSEZ) requires quick attention from irrigation as this belongs to the irrigation department. On the other side of the drain, there is always a cause of concern for night travelers with no streetlights on this whole patch.”

Another resident, Devendar Singh Rathore said, “This road has been broken for more than three years. The irrigation department should have taken action immediately. We have already filed a complaint in the Irrigation Department. There is a railing on the other side of the road which is also broken.”

He added, “There are deep potholes on the road, on the patch of almost 100 meters. Traffic flows through this road and the commuters are facing difficulties especially at night. During the rainy season, any mishappening will happen, which will not be tolerable.”
