Dwarka: A resident of Radhika Apartments, AK Singh, said that the road leading to his society from the metro remains so dark at night that while returning from office, he has to wait for someone to accompany him to his home. The stretch remains pitch dark and is scary for the people to cross in the night.
The connecting road from Sector 14 metro station towards Radhika Apartments and Nirmal Bhartia School, Sector 14 can be seen in darkness. The streetlight poles are there yet the road remains dark.
People from societies like Radhika Apartments, Om Apartments and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Apartments mostly use the road to approach the metro station. People use this road while going to work in the morning and at night to return home from the metro station.
“This is the busiest and preferred route for those who reside in Sector 14 and use the metro. Mostly the office goers use this road to take the metro. It is easy for us in the morning but in the evening, this seems unsafe because there is no light. This road must be taken seriously and should be properly lit,” Singh said.
As shared by commuters, some incidents of snatching too happened because of the darkness. As a result, they have stopped using the road after 8 pm.
Pradeep Kumar from Om Apartments said, “I have left using the road after 8 pm. I take the long route through Vegas Mall and approach my society.”
On a brighter note, concerned officials have assured to look into the matter and do the needful.
