Noida: After several deadlines, the underpass at Sector 71 is now expected to be open for public use in the month end of October. It was expected to be completed by August 31 and open for public use after September 15. Now, the Noida authority is hoping to inaugurate six projects in the middle of October which includes the underpass and an indoor stadium in Sarfabad.
The underpass will ease the traffic flow from Wave City Centre Metro Station to Greater Noida West. It will also be very beneficial for the residents of the sectors 51, 52, 61, 7X sectors, and Greater Noida West.
Rajesh Sahay, General Secretary of Noida Federation of Apartments Owners Associations (NOFAA) said, The date of opening of Sector 71 Underpass has been extended by Noida Authority thrice. Authority should announce the date of opening of this Underpass after keeping in view all hurdles coming in their way. Every extension means an escalation of Cost.”
Nisha Rai, General Secretary of Noida Federation of Apartments Owners Associations (NOFAA), zone 2 said, “ Residents of Sector 50 -7x and 100 and expressway commuting from this route are eagerly waiting for this underpass to open as festivals are around and traffic jams are an everyday nuisance. Residents take the route through Shopprix Sector -61 to Sector -51 via Kendriya Vihar and Meghdootam to avoid Auto drivers ruckus & wrong side vehicle movement at U-turn at sec -71. Noida Traffic police should be mobilised to check the routine in the morning and evening which is totally missing.”
Ashish Ranjan, a resident of Greater Noida West who travels to Delhi for his job, said, “The underpass at Sector 71 in Noida will be helpful for the commuters of Greater Noida West, especially those who commute to Noida regularly. It's been a long time since the underpass was under construction. People have to take alternate routes to reach Noida. With the underpass, the commuters would be able to easily move towards Noida City Centre Metro station and then move wherever they need in Noida.”
Piyush Kumar, a resident of Sector 71 said, “We have been waiting for this underpass for many months and now, we have another deadline. However, this underpass is very important, not only for the Noida Extension and for the residents of Sector 121. It will also ease the traffic of sectors 51, 52, and 7X. This underpass will be helpful for those who commute to Delhi. This is a straight route that would lead to the elevated road which finishes at Sector 18.”
Brajesh Sharma, a resident of Sector 78 said, “It will ease the traffic and especially it is very helpful to avoid the auto-rickshaws ruckus on Sector 51 metro station. It will also save the time of the commuters. This project in Noida will help the commuters of Delhi, Noida Extension, Greater Noida West, Sector 62. Smooth traffic flow will be ensured and there won’t be any trouble. This is what we are expecting. It was a good decision to make an underpass at Sector 71 because it is one of the busiest intersections in Noida. This will be very helpful for us. Hopefully, it will be open for us in the month of October.”
