Noida- Sports City buyers hopeful after registry issue raised in assembly

Noida: The issue of registration of sports city and flats built in Sector 79 Noida is once again in the headlines. It is known that in 2011, Noida Authority had announced to development of Sector 79 as a sports city, after which houses were sold by builders in this sector at a premium amount. Now that people have been living in these houses for the last several years, the work of construction of Sports City and registry of the flats of the society has not even started. There is a lot of anger among the residents due to this evasive attitude of the authority. People are deprived of the ownership of their house even by investing their lifetime deposits.

However, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh presented 21 projects related to development works in the city and problems of buyers in the last assembly session. All these were given in the agenda of the Assembly on August 19. In this, the issue of Sports City in Sector-79 was also raised. Sports City buyers have increased their hopes after the issue was raised in the assembly.

The Noida Authority had planned to develop Sector-79 as a smart city. This provision was made for the construction of sports facilities on 70 per cent of the land and housing on 30 per cent. After this, the builders of the sector sold about 15,000 houses at a premium rate. Buyers have been living for the past several years. But till now, the construction of Sports City has not started, nor is there any registration. To deal with this, a committee was constituted by the Noida Authority this year under the leadership of ACEO. This committee was asked to find solutions to the problems of Sports City. But months passed and the committee did not suggest anyway. However, the authority says that the report has been sent to the government in Lucknow. Now the state government will take a decision on this but residents are upset by this lax attitude of the authorities and builders.

Sanwarjeet Singh, a resident of Gaur Sportswood in Sector 79, said, "We have been raising this issue for so long. Pankaj Singh had assured to talk to the honourable Chief Minister on this subject as well. But if this also doesn't work out then we will move to court".

Ashok Vardhan, a resident of  Mahagun Mirabella, Sector 79, said, "We have a lot of hope from the government to solve this problem, but in case the solution is not found soon, the foundation is ready to approach the apex Court".

Dinesh Gupta, the resident of Gaur Sports Wood Sector 79, said, "I bought a flat in Sector 79 because of sports city, but due to this, the registration of the flat is stalled. Neither the sports city nor the ownership of the flat was received. The builder, government, Noida Authority all took their money from the flat buyer, but the flat buyer did not get ownership of his flat".
