Noida: 7x welfare team meets police to discuss road safety issues

Noida: Members of 7x welfare team on Wednesday met Commissioner of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar to discuss road safety issues. They shared that as per the 2019 report of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, about 4.49 lakh accidents took place and 1.51 lakh people lost their lives. In the same year, Uttar Pradesh, where 22,665 deaths were recorded, 7,000 people died due to the non-use of helmets or plastic helmets on the bike.

The team said that where this premature death in an accident makes the society and the nation weak, it is only a grave calamity for the affected families. In such a situation, whatever our feedback is through awareness, we inform all the departments through Twitter and social media, but due to lack of mutual coordination, it remains only a formality.

7x Welfare team has been making people aware of not wearing plastic helmets and using ISI mark helmets for the last 2 years, they shared that non-ISI helmets, which are made of plastic are sold on the side of the roads are creating a hindrance in this, which needs to be stopped very soon.

The members shared that they have been continuously making people aware of traffic in different intersections, societies and villages of Gautam Budh Nagar in collaboration with Noida Traffic Police for the last 2 years. They are constantly in touch with the Noida Traffic Police to improve the traffic on the roads and is trying to connect more and more traffic volunteers through this awareness campaign and google form.

One of the members shared that in the last 3 years, they have continuously executed various works like the formation of roti bank and  distribution of more than 18 lakh rotis, providing medicines to 1,000 people in Assam and Bihar through medicine bank and spreading awareness about masks continuously. more than 10,000 N95 masks were given in various government departments like traffic police, medical department, authority and other people.
