Himalaya Pride: Residents move consumer court against builder

Greater Noida: Residents of Himalaya Pride, a residential society in Greater Noida West, filed a complaint against the builder in consumer court. Residents shared that the first hearing is on October 25.

Residents alleged that Tower E in the society is unauthorised and illegally constructed by the builder. According to them, the road in front of the commercial shops is a part of society premises but builder has blocked that road from both sides and now, no vehicles can enter through this road. There is an emergency gate, which is blocked. They shared that they have to park their vehicles at visitors parking.

Naresh Nautiyal, a resident of society said, “Builder promised many things to us but there is no execution. Builder constructed Tower E in between towers A and B, which is unauthorised. According to the builder, Tower A, B, and E is a single tower. When we booked our flats, Tower E was not mentioned on the map. While the construction was started, the builder said that this is the guest house for the residents but now, the builder said this is his private property and he can do anything with this and selling the flats of Tower E. Now, we have a hearing in consumer court on October 25.”

Another resident, Abhishek Shrivastava said, “I booked my flat in 2015 in tower A. When I booked it, there was a common area between tower A and tower B. However when I took possession, the gap between the two-tower was finished and the builder made tower E. Tower E is illegal as it is not on the RERA website as well.”

Rakesh Sharma, resident of Tower A said, “I booked my flat in 2016 and the tower E was on construction. The builder said that it was constructed as a guest house for the residents but now he said that it is his private property, and he can do anything.”

A resident on the condition of anonymity said, “From the first day in the society, all the residents have issues on basic amenities. There is no proper security in society, security guards are not active. The builder has constructed an unauthorised tower in the society. There is no camera in the parking lot for security purposes. Open parking is for the guest and visitors but the builder tries to sell it.”

When CitySpidey contacted the builder, he denied the allegations and said that everything is authorised.
