National Health Digital Mission, launched in September 2021, is a scheme which lets all Indians keep their health records saved digitally and access them easily from online records. This will work as a better form of technology providing us with our health details at ease.
A person will be given a special 14 digits ID verification code. It will help you to access your electronic medical record for an individual which will also help doctors to identify the information easily. This scheme will make the work of doctors and health care service providers easier.
This scheme consists of four different sectors i.e. unique digital health ID, healthcare professionals registry, health facility registry and electronic health records. This will help to create a healthcare environment.
How will the health ID work?
First step is to create an ID, using an Aadhaar card or your personal phone number, which will help to share the information easily to an individual and work as a health account. Next, system will ask you to register basic details such as location, contact details, family and relation.
After an individual’s consent, this information will be connected to your unique health ID. One can manage their health record personally, by accessing the personal health record system.
You can also view your health data anytime, which is properly composed in it such as treatment details, lab reports, discharge summary from variant health services.
Points to consider, while registering and cons:
- Do not share your personal details without any surety of authenticity.
- Do not share your health ID it can lead to fraud.
- Your personal details may get invaded if there will be no strict laws in privacy rules.
- Digitalisation can be expensive for the nation.
- It can result in a burden on health care institutes due to shortage in healthcare resources.
